Throughout her career, Adriana has worked with ambassadors, diplomats, and major corporations, both in the Netherlands and internationally. Her experience also includes her time at the VIP Center at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport, where she welcomed distinguished delegations, including royal families, members of the diplomatic corps, celebrities, and political and religious leaders.
Recognition of her work came quickly. In 2021, Adriana was awarded the Ibero-American Medal by the Honoris Causa International Foundation (FHCI), a distinction that recognizes her career, professional success, and contribution to excellence in the field of protocol and diplomacy.
Adriana, it’s a pleasure to have you with us. To begin, what does it mean to have a “global mindset” in the business world, and how does it influence strategic decision-making?
Having a global mindset involves developing what we call cultural intelligence (CQ), a fundamental ability to understand and adapt effectively to diverse environments. This skill is essential not only for leaders of international companies but also for making more inclusive strategic decisions, anticipating risks, and fostering innovation within organisations. Globally minded companies understand that integrating diverse cultural dimensions not only improves results but also strengthens their international presence.
